Teachers have a fundamental role in the educational process, not only as knowledge transmitters but also as character builders and shapers of students’ thinking. The background of this study is based on the importance of teachers’ roles in facing modern educational challenges that require not only mastery of subject matter but also the ability to develop students’ holistic personality. This study aims to examine the role of teachers from the perspective of educational philosophy and analyze its relevance in current educational practices. The method used is a literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach through the analysis of relevant journals and academic sources. The results show that in the perspective of educational philosophy, teachers act not only as instructors but also as role models, facilitators, mentors, and agents of social change contributing to holistic human development. Philosophical schools such as idealism, realism, and pragmatism provide different yet complementary views in understanding the role of teachers. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that teachers hold a strategic position in determining the quality of education, thus requiring strengthened pedagogical and philosophical competence in educational practice. This study recommends that teachers continuously develop their understanding of educational philosophy to improve more meaningful learning quality.
